From Yellow Belt to Black Belt in Wing Chun
Here I will link all the lessons of this Master Class to their corresponding Level - from Yellow Belt to Black Belt.
So you have two possibilities of learning Wing Chun with this Master Class:
- You could learn all there is to know about a particular topic such as the Siu Nim Tao or about basic techniques in Wing Chun.
- Or you learn all there is to know about the Yellow Belt first and then moving on to the Orange Belt, and so forth ...
The choice is yours!

LEVEL 1: The Yellow Belt
(Required amount of training: ~ 80 to 100 hours)
In this first level you learn the basics of Wing Chun, like important footwork, the most important defending and attacking techniques, the first form (called the Siu Nim Tao) and the basics of Chi Sao (feel training), Lat Sao (fighting applications) and of self defense using Wing Chun.
At this primary level we focus heavily on defending ourselves by attacking.

LEVEL 2: The Orange Belt
(Required amount of training: ~ 80 to 100 hours)
At the second level of Wing Chun we still focus on defending ourselves by attackting. But aside from that, we begin to defend ourselves against attacks from our opponent who attacks us with straight punches, round punches, kicks and with elbows.
In addition to that we learn the second form in Wing Chun (called the Cham Kiu) and we do a lot of one-handed and also two-handed Chi Sao (called Dan Chi and Poon Sao).

LEVEL 3: The Green Belt

Now our opponent comes even closer and wants to bring us to the ground. So we learn to defend ourselves against wrestling attacks and we also do some ground fighting.
What we will also cover at the third level of Wing Chun is defending against weapons and we will train a lot of Chi Sao of course.

LEVEL 4: The Blue Belt
(Required amount of training: ~ 100 to 150 hours)
Here we will take a closer look at the forms again. But we will not only rehearse them - we will deepen our understanding substantially.
Other things that we cover here are fighting against multiple opponents and executing joint locks.

LEVEL 5: The Brown Belt
(Required amount of training: ~ 150 to 200 hours)
At the fifth level we concentrate heavily on Chi Sao and translating that into our Lat Sao and fighting skills.

LEVEL 6: The Black Belt (1. Dan)
(Required amount of training: ~ 200 to 250 hours)
Just like at level 5 we will concentrate on Chi Sao and Lat Sao. Besides that we will rehearse and build on all the previous programs. So that we can confidently see ourselves as a true Black Belt!
